‘A very lovely voice indeed’
is how Sarah Ward of Jazz Fm described Imogen on
her radio show.
Imogen and her musicians have
drawn this kind of acclaim from their audiences
and their peers wherever they perform.
Upon hearing the broadcast,
Costa Pilavachi, Decca Records’ president,
stopped his car and called the radio station to
discover the name of the girl with the
‘beautiful, arresting voice’.
When Tony Bennett is in
London, he makes sure he catches the band at The
Dorchester where they have played for years.
Last time, he made a point of praising their
performance saying ‘you guys are really great’.
Roderick too has his share of
praise ‘it is extremely rare to find a pianist
of this quality, working in a bar where you can
hear his considerable talent for free’
Another frequent visitor,
Nathalie Cole asked him ‘where have you been
hiding?’
